The Matriarch

Involved in important political decisions and an expert on war, the matriarch is a head strong leader who is decisive and dignified. Whenever there is a problem, the people in Octavia go to her for help, as they see her with veneration and trust. Her posture is always impeccable, her expression permanently neutral, and she will do whatever it takes for the community to survive, but that often materializes in stern words, tough love, and difficult decisions. Despite the impracticality, she insists on wearing her long gray hair down, and when asked why, she simply responds with a terse smile.

The Engineer

The lanky engineer is extremely crafty, gifted with a mind that sees the world geometrically. He is also quiet and skittish, often having difficulty interacting with the rest of the community, despite caring for them deeply. He is continuously seen working on the main web but is always hidden in the shadows where the only thing that indicates his presence is the glint from the reflection of his tools. It is well known that he comes from a long ancestral line of engineers and despite his talents he is secretly afraid of disappointing his family and community.

The Child

More mischievous than any other child, the boy is seen swinging around the web recklessly, occasionally accidentally breaking small connections on the web. As a result his knees and elbows are constantly bruised and scratched. Unlike other people and children in the community, he outwardly expresses dreams of the world beyond Octavia, and often gets harshly reprimanded by the matriarch as a result. Nevertheless his spirit never wavers, and he continues to swing around the web recklessly in hopes of finding an escape from Octavia.
